This was expressed to the press by sources of the National Administration of Ports (ANP) of Uruguay after a meeting in Montevideo in which were also present the person in charge of the Uruguayan transport portfolio, Víctor Rossi; Paraguayan and a delegation of businessmen affected by the delay in the operation with the boats.

"We were working and trying to agree on a short, short term solution, which It has to do with the early work, prompt unloading and loading of the ships that are currently in port in Montevideo and that has several days of delay, "the president of the press explained to the press. the ANP, Alberto Díaz.

The problem arises because, before the queue waiting to be served, operators are giving priority to unloading and loading the oceanic vessels in front of the Paraguayans and at least about 14 vessels of this country are standing for about two weeks in the port of Montevideo.

Diaz said that as a medium-term measure the ANP asks to the Paraguayans who speak with the shipping companies that operate in the port of Montevideo so that in the contracts they make with the operators that load and unload the ships they foresee clauses of attention to the Paraguayan ships.

"The situation we have today is a delay in attention to the Paraguayan ships according to how the international market occurs. shipping companies sign agreements with the operators, the Paraguayans have no possibility of choosing which operators to work with, "the Uruguayan summed up.
