According to Anfavea, the increase in production was driven by an increase in exports, which rose by 66.6% in October compared to a year ago, with 61,554 vehicles.

In the global year, Brazil exported 627,820 vehicles, 56.7% more than in the first ten months of last year.

On the other hand, sales of automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses last month totaled 202,857 units, 1.8% more than in September and 27.6% higher than in October 2016.

The increase in production reflects the recovery of the automotive sector, one of the most affected in the country due to the serious economic crisis that Brazil experienced. between 2015 and 2016 and from which it begins to recover slowly.

The Brazilian economy increased 1% in the first quarter of the year and 0.2% from April to June and according to the forecasts of private sector analysts, the gross domestic product (GDP) could advance a shy 0.70% in 2017 and 2.50% in 2018.

In 2016, the Brazilian automotive industry recorded a fall of 11.2% in production and 20.19% in sales.
