The price of a barrel of Venezuelan oil registered a fall of 5.44 yuan (81 cents) this week, going from 369.18 yuan (55.59 dollars) to 363.74 (54.78 dollars), reported today the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of the Caribbean country.

Caracas, Nov 17 (EFE) .- The price of a barrel of Venezuelan oil registered a fall of 5.44 yuan (81 cents) this week, going from 369.18 yuan (55.59 dollars) to 363 ($ 54.78), the Energy and Petroleum Ministry of the Caribbean country reported today.

The Venezuelan authorities offer the price of oil in the Chinese currency after announcing the abandonment of the dollar as reference currency for State transactions, in response to financial sanctions issued by Washington against Caracas.

This week the exchange rate taken as a reference by the Venezuelan government is 6.64 yuan the dollar.

The Venezuelan oil portfolio, which on this occasion did not report why the decline in the price of the crude oil, also detailed the decline in the prices of other crude oils, including Brent, which stood at 62.42 dollars this week compared to 63.49 the previous week.

The price of the Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) also closed down this week, since it was quoted at 55.93 dollars compared to 56.83 in the previous period.

For its part, the OPEC basket also showed a decline from 61.12 to 60.69 dollars.
