Brussels, 14 Nov (EFE) .- The European Parliament (PE) will propose making mandatory that all new cars have driver assistance systems such as automatic braking with Pedestrian detection or adaptive speed.

The motion for a resolution tabled by the German MEP of the European People's Party (PPE) group Dieter-Lebrecht Koch will be debated next Monday and will be voted on Tuesday.

According to the parliamentarian, only one in four new vehicles have these systems and they make the vehicle price, so its widespread implementation "would make cars with these systems cheaper".

"We all make mistakes, either as drivers, pedestrians or cyclists, "said Koch, who understands that automatic assistance systems" are like silent co-pilots that help prevent accidents ".

The European Parliament also will evaluate the possibility of reducing the blood alcohol limit to zero for both novice and experienced drivers.
