Ibero-American banks for development debate strategies in Madrid

Representatives of several Ibero-American development banks are debating today in Madrid and for several days the strategies to promote their activities and their objectives.

Madrid, Nov 14 (EFE) .- Representatives of several Ibero-American development banks are debating today in Madrid and for several days the strategies to promote their activities and their objectives.

This is a seminar organized by the Spanish Official Credit Institute (ICO) for development banking executives and reaches its fourteenth edition.

The Latin American assistants to the course are directors of the Productive Development Bank of Bolivia, the National Financial Corporation of Ecuador, the National Bank of Commerce Outside of Mexico, the Development Bank of Nicaragua, the Financial Development Agency of Paraguay, the Development Bank of Peru, the Instituçao Financeira de Desenvolvimento of Portugal and the Bank of Foreign Trade of Venezuela.

Representatives of the Secretary of State of Commerce of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain and the Association Spanish Capital, Growth and Investment complete the list of participants.

The president of the ICO, Pablo Zalba, inaugurated today this edition of the program, whose objective is to establish a forum for discussion and exchange of views on the role of Development Banking in the current international economic environment, according to a statement from that Institute.

The presentations and tables of debate that will be developed during the four days that make up the course will allow deepening in relevant topics for this type of institutions.

"It is a space for the debate of ideas and experiences between institutions from different geographical areas and with different composition, but that share as a fundamental objective to contribute to the best development in their areas of performance ", according to Zalba.

The presentations and workshops, given by members of the ICO management team, as well as prestigious professionals in the sector, refer to topics such as adaptation of the development banks to the economic, legal and political environment and the promotion of national and international economic activity.
