According to the president of Embratur, Vinicius Lummertz, the new flights will offer the tourist Paraguayan more suitable schedules and less connection time in their trips to Brazil.

According to Embratur statistics, the number of Paraguayan tourists received by Brazil jumped by 5% on last year, from 301,000 in 2015 to 316,000 in 2016.

Amaszonas Paraguay, which will attend the three new flights Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft, with capacity for 50 passengers, also intends to offer non-periodic flights between Asunción and the Brazilian resort of Florianópolis during the austral summer which begins next December.

The airline will also offer, from January 2018, a daily flight between Asunción and Campinas, an important city in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo.

Brazilian travelers, meanwhile, may use the Paraguayan airline to make flights, with a stopover at the Asunción hub, to Buenos Aires and Salta (Argentina), Montevideo (Uruguay), Iquique (Chile) and Santa Cruz de La Sierra (Bolivia).

The Amaszonas subsidiary in Uruguay already offers flights between Montevideo and the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre.
